Adam of Bondington, clerk, and associate to the chancellor of Scotland (as appointed by Edward I, ‘overlord of Scotland’) received £6 13s. 4d. in part payment of his fee granted to him by King Edward. He received this payment at Edinburgh from Alexander Balliol, chamberlain of Scotland. Several similar receipts to various Scots survive for this period and can be found in the database.
