The Treaty of Paris between France and Scotland was ratified at a parliament at Dunfermline. This treaty marked the beginning of the ‘Auld Alliance’ between the two kingdoms; however, it was one-sided in favour of France as, should England invade France, Scotland was bound to provide military assistance against England, though should England invade Scotland, France would merely attempt to provide military and financial assistance.
